About NMISFThe Northern Mariana Islands Swimming Federation (NMISF) is a non-profit corporation that was organized on May 20, 1986. NMISF fosters the instruction and development of grassroots swimming to elite level competition. NMISF is a full member of World Aquatics, the world governing body for the sports of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming. NMISF is also a member of the Oceania Swimming Association (OSA), one of the five world geographical regions designated and recognized by World Aquatics. MissionNMISF fosters a philosophy of aquatics that is inclusive and embraces athletes of all race, gender, color, creed, religious beliefs or economic status. NMISF promotes and encourages aquatics on all levels from beginner grassroots ‘learn to swim’ programs to elite International competitive swimming, open water swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming, and masters swimming. NMISF promotes aquatic activities in the entire Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands through its affiliated members. |

NMISF shall acts as the sanctioning body in case of unsportsmanlike conduct. NMISF shall approve and sanction official NMI qualifying meets and maintain, record, and publish CNMI National records. NMISF shall regulate all aspects of competitive swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and masters swimming in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and shall provide a uniform set of rules for the conduct therein. NMISF shall establish universal selection criteria for swimmers, coaches and Federation representatives, to represent the Northern Mariana Islands at international competitive swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, and masters swimming events. |
